If you had this many goodies, you would be content too
Subscription business was booming last year and this year, 2020, is shaping to be the best one yet. The reasons for this high demand are a few – modern society loves convenience and enjoys delivered everything, and now we also have corona virus, worldwide quarantines, and self-guided decisions to stay home to limit all social contact. That includes avoiding grocery stores and pet shops. While back in a day it was simply fun to get dog subscription boxes, today it became of vital importance. We are staying home and so are our pets, so spoiling them with toys and treats that get delivered to our door is essential.
Am I causing pain? What pain?
I have tried quite a few services that deliver goodies for dogs every month. Sure, I was doing it for fun and the surprise factor, but now I am thinking about other reasons. I want Marlo to have fun and treats, but I don’t want to go to Petco and Whole Foods for supplies, so subscription boxes are going to keep coming. He deserves them and so do my kids, who are staying home playing with the dog all the time and destroying an insane amount of toys.
BarkBox makes unique and catchy toys
The first subscription box I ever tried was BarkBox, and it’s because of it I have so much respect for such services and want to get more and more. It’s addicting and so much fun, sometimes even more for us than for our dogs. I love the fact that I don’t have to look for products, think, choose, and make decisions. I enjoy having experts select the best toy brands and the healthiest treats without my input. All those companies have a short survey about your dog’s likes, dislikes, size, and dietary restrictions, but that’s all. They handle everything else with professionalism, all you have to do is receive a box and enjoy it together with your pet. Don’t forget to wipe it all over with disinfecting wipes before opening!
Poop or hammerhead shark from BarkBox anyone?
These are four brands that I feel are currently the best in the industry:
- Chewy Goody Box
- Super Chewer
- Dog Mom Box
Let’s talk about each one of them separately:
Chewy Goody Box
I can work for Chewy and make them proud
I ordered this box just as my dog was turning one year old, so I got him a box for puppies. It came looking all cute and big, but the toys inside were very puppy-like and got killed within a few hours, but it was a good time those few hours.
I eat and I safeguard more good eats from Chewy
This box had 7 items and cost $24 per month, which is the best deal of all the subscription boxes that I’ve tried.

I love mommy and why wouldn’t I when she gets me all of that?
We found two cute toys, two bags of natural treats, one tough hoof filled with peanut butter chew, a bandana, and a poop dispenser with bags.
Chewy Goody Box for puppies makes life a lot sweeter
BarkBox is a monthly reason for joy
Barkbox comes monthly and costs $29 if payed for each time. You can save significant amount of money if you subscribe for a year – $8 each month. This is the best value by far. Each box is themed and comes with two toys, two bags of all natural treats, and two chews.

Not sure about dogs, but their humans love BarkBox themes
I absolutely love their themes – snowboard hounds, birds and bees for spring, and something cute for each holiday. Their treats are made by BarkBox and not found anywhere else, natural, healthy, and delicious.
More reasons for Christmas mood from BarkBox
While I love all the goodies we have got, and so does Marlo, he is young and loves to chew, so the toys from BarkBox didn’t last very long, even though I have to say that they were quite sturdy.
Scary or cute, it will be eaten in a speedy way
Super Chewer from Bark for chewers that mean business
This box also comes from BarkBox and is for dogs that are extra powerful chewers, like mine. It costs just a little bit more, but toys definitely last longer. You won’t get any fluff and stuffed cute toys with this box, toys that come in it are made of natural rubber or silicone and can’t be destroyed very fast.
It’s all about fun and games and then you kill them
Super Chewer boxes are also themed; they include two tough toys, two bags of treats that are wheat, soy, corn, and grain free, and two hearty chews. The box costs $39 with monthly payments, but $29/month with yearly subscription.

Plenty to swallow and to chew from Super Chewer
Dog Mom Box
Dog moms don’t need medals, but they can use some recognition
This subscription box is a little different because it brings products for dogs and for their humans. Each one gets 2-4 items. In my first box we got 3 each. The box comes every month and costs $40.

Love is love from Dog Mom Box people
I have to say that toys and chews for dogs are great, but I wasn’t entirely crazy about what I got for myself – a dog mom sticker, car coasters, and a tote. The tote is the only thing that is really useful. I like the idea though, that both, people and dogs, get some surprises to enjoy. The box can be customized for 2, 3, or more dogs for extra fee.
