ColonBroom and Metamucil dietary supplements have much in common, but in fact, are different in term of ingredients.
Cleansing colon is an effective detox method and I do use it from time to time too. My favorite colon cleansing solution is ColonBroom, but it is not cheap. Are there cheaper ColonBroom alternatives? I searched the web and discovered a more affordable colon cleanser you can find in most stores – Metamucil.
ColonBroom supplement effectively cleanses colon and offers a natural way of getting rid of toxins.
Since it costs twice cheaper than my favorite ColonBroom I decided to make an experiment and compare these two dietary supplements. What do they have in common? How do they differ? Are there any side effects? Which one is more effective? These are the questions I will try to answer.
Metamucil contains collagen as an added ingredient, while ColonBroom doesn’t have.
First, I looked into the ingredients of each dietary supplement. Here is what I discovered.
ColonBroom |
Metamucil |
Psyllium Husk Powder Citric Acid Natural Flavors Stevia Leaf Extract Crystallized Lemon
Fruit and Vegetable Juice Sea Salt Organic Rice Hulls
|
Psyllium Husk Powder Citric Acid Natural Flavors Stevia Hydrolyzed Collagen Peptides (Bovine) Maltodextrin Paprika Extract (color) Turmeric (color) |
ColonBroom list of ingredients and supplement facts.
If we compare nutritional facts, we will see that:
|
ColonBroom |
Metamucil |
Servings per Container Calories 20 Total Carbohydrate Dietary Fiber Soluble Fiber Calcium Sodium Potassium Protein Hydrolyzed Collagen Peptides (Bovine) |
60 20 4 g 2 g 2 g 3mg 60 mg 2 mg – – |
60 30 6 g 3 g 2 g Maltodextrin – 15 mg 40 mg 3 g 3 g |
As you see, the basic ingredients are pretty much the same. Both contain Psyllium Husk Powder as the main source of fiber, but Metamucil is also rich in collagen which helps support joints. ColonBroom has strawberry flavor while Metamucil has orange one. Metamucil, however, contains Maltodextrin which has a high glycemic index value and had better to be avoided.
Both dietary supplements are known to be efficient at helping lower blood sugar and cholesterol. This in its turn helps decrease the risk of heart diseases. But when it comes to ingredients ColonBroom is safer to use as it doesn’t contain any artificial substances in it.
Another important factor to consider is the price: Metamucil is twice cheaper ($30) and can be purchased in Target, Walmart and other popular chain-store retailers. You can order ColonBroom only at their official website and the price with ColonBroom Coupon will be around $65.
ColonBroom Coupon is an excellent cost saving opportunity not to be missed.
After using Metamucil for a week, I didn’t notice much effect. Maybe I had to continue using it for a longer time, but I didn’t have enough patience and switched to my usual ColonBroom supplement. I like that it tastes better, I like that ingredients are absolutely safe and, most importantly, it is effective!
