I get seasonal CauseBox and my sister has an annual box subscription. They are pretty similar without that many differences, but we always like to compare them. It’s kind of like a little competition – who gets it faster and whose products are better. The winner of products is never really clear because it’s very subjective and we customize our boxes, but I and my seasonal box often win in terms of arrival time.
This time I won with delivery as well, because my box arrived at the end of March and my sister got hers just now, way into April. This proves that yearly is not always better than seasonal, but it saves some money.
We both enjoyed our boxes even more than before, because of this non-ending lockdown at home due to corona virus. It’s clear that when you are deprived of your normal life, shopping, socializing, and traveling, you start looking for mood lifters in every little thing, and those CauseBoxes are no little things, so we definitely let ourselves celebrate and even created box opening parties via Zoom.
Our kids thought we totally lost it, but there will be a day when they will understand that this was needed for mommies to stay sane and beautiful. And that’s how they like us, hopefully.
As I mentioned above, the boxes were very similar. They looked the same and only 2 items out of 7 inside were different. When it comes to our feelings about CauseBox, they are also pretty similar. My sister is way more into organic and natural way of life than I am, so she values this company because of that. I care about that a bit less, but I really enjoy the message and the support underprivileged communities get from CauseBox. So we both our reasons. And now just about anybody would like a box of any kind to distract them from quarantined reality and dashed spring break dreams.

These are identical items that we both got:
Pixie Mood Zoe Crossbody in Honey and White - $75
Mine was in honey, and hers is in white or rather off-white. We love how it feels and looks like real leather, but is made of vegan leather. Not much use from this beautiful thing now, but as soon as we are out and about, we’ll slay with those bags even while on opposite coasts.
Bentgo Stackable Bento Box in Blush - $29
I got mine in blush and enjoyed it enough to make a resolution to take it along to a picnic or to collect left over food from a restaurant, in due time.
My sister got a different Bento box, called Cloud, and a written explanation that her regular box in Sunflower experienced some production problems and will be delivered with the summer box. I deem it not fair!
Artisan Direct Sustainable Grocery Starter Kit - $22
This item is especially loved by my sister and fits her lifestyle to a T. That’s not to say that I waste plastic bags – I recycle all of them, but it won’t hurt me to switch to reusable grocery bags and do the right thing, especially when they are so cute and made in India.
Earth Harbor Reparative Eye Cream - $34
If we were getting wrinkles around our eyes from quarantine and home schooling stress, now it’s over. The cream jar is not big, but it’s powerful with seaweed collagen and pleasant with refreshing scent.
Cardea Auset Calm Mood Mist - $30
I love universal everything and it doesn’t get more universal than this – you can mist your face, your body, and the room around you for a calming effect. We all need a bit of mood these days, so this product is right in time.
And this is what we got different:
Fosterie Layered Gem Necklace - $36
This necklace is made in Colombia, by hand, so I know it’s one of a kind. I don’t need a big occasion to wear such understated jewelry, getting pretty at home during quarantine is just fine.
Jenni Earle Wild + Free Bandana - $32
Bandanas are usually not my thing, but I wanted to try it, especially because it is made in India and has adventure written all over it, and we need adventure so bad now! I shall take it with me on my hand, on my head, or on my neck next time I leave this house.
Dime Super Eye Duo - $49
I can see my sister growing her black eyelashes even longer during quarantine with this serum and mascara, both vegan and cruelty-free.
Simple Self Wellness Planner - $20
We all could use it, especially now, when it’s not so much about doing things, but more about caring and feeling good inside. Staying home often means more responsibilities than normally with all hungry family members around all the time. Despite all that, we should find time for our emotional and physical well-being. This planner can help!
