How to Save on Door Dash

Door Dash is currently offering no fee delivery in some areas, but even without that you can find various savings. Eating out is not possible for now, but you can still get food from your beloved eateries with Door Dash. Learn savings strategies here:

All deliveries are now no-contact

To make sure your delivery is really no-contact, go to “Delivery Instructions” and select no-contact option. It should be automatic anyway, but double check it just in case.

Use text messages with your dasher:

You can always send a text message to your driver and ask him or her to drop the package off by your door without seeing you. To help you can even send them a picture of where you would like to have the delivery left.

Free delivery for two months

If you have a family member or a partner, you can get free delivery for 2 months during regular times, when delivery is not free. If you are new to Door Dash and have never downloaded the app before, you always get free 30 days. Door Dash tracks you by your phone number, email, and credit card, but not by your physical address. So if you have somebody living at the same address, he or she can also sign up and get another month free. You can do all that without any coupon code.

Door Dash gift cards from Target

You can get Door Dash gift card from Target and get 5% off if you use REDCard to pay for it. You don’t have to go to a physical Target store, because all those Door Dash gift cards are electronic and will be sent to you via email. If you have any questions, you can call Target customer service.

Some restaurants offer $0 delivery fee

When ordering from Door Dash, look for places that offer $0 delivery for the first time and buy from them. There is a list of restaurants in your area like that on Door Dash app.

Snacks from Door Dash

Shop at 7-Eleven for necessities and snacks, and get them delivered for free with Door Dash. Not only you will get your bottled water, chocolate bars, and pain meds brought to you with no delivery fee, but the delivery will take place in less than an hour.

DashPass

If you buy from Door Dash more than twice per month, you should sign up for DashPass, which is $9.99 per month and gives free or at least lowed delivery price. This applies for times when the service is not already free.

Standard fee is $5.99, so ordering more than two times in 30 days would cover your membership fee. Minimum order for free delivery is $12, which is not hard to do with any restaurant.

Free DashPass subscription

There is a way to get free DashPass if you have Chase Visa card. Chase Sapphire Reserve and Preferred members get 1 year or even more of free DashPass. Chase Freedom and Slate members get 3 months free and then another 9 months for 50% off Door Dash deliveries.

Social media

Sometimes restaurants that deliver via Door Dash offer free things with orders and various discounts. You can find them on Twitter and other social media sites. Those deals are limited time, usually just for a few days, require code, and are applied with minimum order amounts.

Friend referral

You can refer friends to Door Dash and get $10 rewards towards your next order. Just go to “Account” and select “Refer Friends” link for sending invitations. If your friends will order for at least $15 through your link, you will get $10 off one-time order and they will get $5 off their next three orders.

If you have a problem with Door Dash order

If your order is incomplete, something got spilled, damaged, or it hasn’t arrived all together, you can and should get a refund. You need to go to “Account”, “Delivery Support”, select your order, click “Help”, and then choose your issue for a refund.
