I have never been big on smoothies. I always enjoy juice, but the texture of smoothies always turned me off. I like to either drink something or chew something, and smoothies are smack in the middle of the two – neither drink nor food.
However, after trying Splendid Spoon I started changing my opinion about smoothies simply because some can be really tasty. My favorite ones had cocoa nibs, so chewing made sense and prevented me from feeling weird about smoothies.
Splendid Spoon delivers 5 breakfast smoothies and 5 lunch soup or grain bowls every week. You can also choose to get one or another, but I went for both meals per day. It is very easy to get used to the convenience of grabbing a smoothie and going about your morning while getting a healthy breakfast in.
I take a bottle on my way to gym in the morning and come home done with a workout and breakfast, which leaves me feeling completely on top of things. Sure, I slide downhill from there and become lazy, but I rule my mornings!
After healthy vegan breakfasts and lunches, I can indulge with dinners a little and still maintain my weight goals. Even though Splendid Spoon is not branding itself as a diet, it is great for weight loss the easy way.
After being on this program for 4 weeks, I have a list of favorite smoothies that I get all the time. It takes a few tries to pick what really works for you, but once you do, ordering becomes a very simple and fast affair.

These are my favorite smoothies from Splendid Spoon so far:
Cacao almond smoothie
This smoothie was the first I tried and immediately fell in love. It has those decadent cacao nibs that are crunchy, chocolaty, and give a real reason for chewing. Strangely to me, I also feel very full after this smoothie and not hungry until lunch time. It does have 380 calories after all. Cacao almond smoothie has purified water, bananas, almond butter, coconut nectar, cacao nibs, pea protein, baobab powder, vanilla powder, and Himalayan salt.
Raspberry cacao smoothie
This is another cacao nib creation and I like it even better than the first one. It has 310 calories and also offers 12g of protein, fiber, vitamin D, calcium, iron, and potassium. Bananas, raspberries, coconut nectar, cashew butter, pea protein, beet juice, rose water, vanilla extract, cacao, and Himalayan salt give wonderful taste and texture combination that even people like me can enjoy.
Dragon fruit berry smoothie
This one didn’t have cacao and I missed it, but I can’t only like chocolate smoothies, right? Dragon fruit smoothie also has some chewy things in the shape of chia seeds and is a bit sour. I am a big fan of chia seeds and make puddings with them all the time. It also has pineapple juice, dragon fruit, raspberries, avocado, pea protein, vanilla powder, and salt. The best thing about Splendid Spoon smoothies and soups is that nothing has any preservatives and artificial ingredients!
Mint chip smoothie
Mint chocolate is always a nice combination. I can definitely take it in a smoothie. It is green and thick, and really tastes like mint chocolate, which can’t be easy to achieve in a smoothie. In addition to cacao nibs and peppermint, it also has bananas, almond butter, coconut nectar, baobab powder, pea protein, Swiss chard juice, spirulina, and salt. Swiss chard and spirulina are two unexpected ingredients, but everything else is very similar in all smoothies.
Chocolate cherry smoothie
This flavor combination tastes as good as it sounds. It might not be your typical chocolate cherry, but it definitely is a healthy drinkable version. It has bananas, cherry juice, almond butter, coconut nectar, coconut nibs, cacao nibs, pea protein, vanilla powder, and salt. All of those ingredients give 380 calories, full belly, 12g of protein, other nutrients, and vitamin D.
