December is one beautiful time of the year and not only because Christmas is coming, but because it’s the first month of winter and that’s when various subscription boxes arrive, be it monthly or quarterly. I started subscribing to Macy’s Beauty Box a few months ago and love getting little surprises directly to my mailbox.
Let’s take some time and talk about the latest, December Beauty Box, which was unwrapped by me today, sitting under my decorated Christmas tree and enjoying hot cocoa with marshmallows while kids were at school and the dog was getting groomed.
Every time I get Macy’s Beauty Box, I wish it was a bit bigger, and yet I don’t want to pay more, so I guess I shouldn’t complain about that. Small also means space saving, which I love. And finally, I don’t have to get stuck with full size products that might not be needed all that much and lay around my bathroom for months.
So let’s get to December Macy’s Beauty Box business:
The first thing that caught my eyes was the sparkly, shiny, shimmery cosmetic bag. I am known to love everything shiny, so this all me. After unpacking all the goodies I immediately put them all in this bag for storage and fast access to everything new, which makes trying everything easier.
The next thing I found was the Makeup Drop silicone applicator that is shaped like a drop and is full of glitter inside. Did I say how much I loved everything that sparkles? It is very soft, pleasant to touch and will be used on those rare days when I choose to apply full face makeup. It feels so good, however, that I just want to hold and squeeze it.

Then came two products for lips – Girlactik 3-in-1 Lip Sparkle Balm and GrandeLips Hydrating Lip Plumper. The first one is shaped like a pencil and was very hard to open. Once opened after some struggle, I turned out to be so soft that I broke the tip right away, but it looks good on lips and moisturizes them perfectly. The second one is dark, red, and again, shiny. The liquid is destined to make lips plumper and covered with long lasting color. The tip is angled, so you can contour your lips and then fill them in for plumping effect.
Next, PUR Afterglow highlighter is definitely one thing that every girl can use. It looks very nice and makes the skin glow with natural radiance. Can we all agree that it is extremely useful for pale winter cheeks?
I love perfume and this Macy’s Beauty Box definitely delivered. Carolina Herrera Good Girl sample smells amazing, rich, and delicate all at the same time. I can totally imagine myself wearing this scent to the New Year’s Eve party. I wish it would just be more of this jasmine, almond, and cocoa magic!
Another perfume, Paco Rabanne can also easily become one of my favorites because how can one not love subtle geranium, laurelwood, and red amber combination? This scent is really fresh and has fruity undertones.
Finally, the last product I found was Elizabeth Arden Vitamin C Ceramide Capsules Radiance Renewal Serum in a small bottle. The capsules look like tiny cute gold pouches, very interesting and inviting. I am not big on facial cream, lotions, and serums thanks to my oily skin, but these I will try. After all, I do have a few blemishes to take care of and a few wrinkles to get rid of.
The box also had $10 off my next beauty purchase from Macy’s coupon and a little card that talked about them having to substitute one of the samples in my box. Since I don’t know what was substituted and love everything I got, I don’t really care about that. But it was nice of them to warn me in case I follow the upcoming beauty boxes in advance online.
Macy’s Beauty Box is definitely a great tool to open new beauty horizon for people like me, who love all the products and use them, yet don’t spend any time looking for innovations or shopping.
Since this box was not a disappointment, but rather an early Christmas gift, I will be looking forward for the January Beauty Box and all the surprises inside that will help me get over the after holiday slump.
