I was getting addicted to subscription boxes for a while now, so to say that this addiction went into overdrive when I got locked up at home to survive the onslaught of corona virus, would be an understatement. I can’t go shopping, can’t socialize with my best friends over lunch, and can’t travel anywhere, so all I do is day dream and look for subscription boxes that would bring me some much needed joy. Those fancy boxes really are the next best thing to old-fashioned, simple, and much missed shopping.
I have heard of Popsugar Must Have box before, but never found time to try it. Needless to say, I have all the time in the world now and not many things to spend my money on, so Popsugar, here I come!
The box is seasonal. It brings full size beauty, fashion, home, and other items for us to spoil ourselves at home. Now I don’t know how ‘must have’ this box really is during normal times, but today it should be mandatory for all women who are working, cleaning, cooking, and homeschooling their kids all while staying home with their husbands day in and day out. Wanna stay sane? - Order Popsugar Must Have and have it too!
The box costs $75 per season and delivers over $300 worth of stuff. If you are ready to take the plunge, prepay for a year and save $30. Shipping is free with both options. First time customers are often rewarded and encouraged with 20% off coupon code.
My first box arrived looking all cook and swanky in black. The opening experience started with the magazine, where I found descriptions and stories of all the products included in this delivery. I am not sure if I will read the entire magazine, but I might, after I am done watching every Netflix show that was ever created.
This is what goodies I got in my first Popsugar Must Have box:
The spray comes from Budapest and smells like Europe all over. It is undeniably luxurious (you can find it in Nordstrom after all), feels good on my skin, gently moisturizes without clogging up my pores, and even promises to help my skin regenerate. I will take it along with me on my next vacation, if that is ever destined to happen again.
Avocado, glow, and sleep in one sentence are already promising signs. Corona or not, avocado still rules! The best thing about this is that all I have to do to achieve perfect skin is sleep. Ever since kids stopped going to school, I am waking up with black circles under my eyes, so this cream with avocado, encapsulated retinol, and coffee berry is my big hope. And this avocado won’t get brown in two hours!
The first thing I love about these glasses is how stylish they are. They also reduce blue-light absorption by 30%, which will work wonders during my late night work – thank you corona for bestowing the kids on me all day long and work at night! I chose black frames and feel like a healthy-eyed queen now.
These might be a little unconventional, but beautiful whichever way you look at them. For ages people used crystals as a method to heal and find inner balance or simply enjoyed their beauty. Smudge Wellness is sending these crystals to us during this difficult time as a way to find calm naturally - and who doesn’t need calm these days?
Each of those fun crystals is associated with a different healing and cleansing power, and regardless of the strength of your belief, you can still have fun.
Again, not that we can go anywhere wearing large beads, but when we can again, I am emerging from my house wearing these, my highest heals, and my Luis Vuitton bag. The necklace is definitely a statement maker, bold, and colorful. It is made in India and knowing that some underprivileged communities get support, tugs on my heart strings. You can wear it as a choker or as 20” necklace.
Spring is here and no COVID-19 will keep us inside all the time. My plan is to have meaningful breakfasts outside as a family and these nice bowls will be a perfect fit for cereal kind of mornings. They will also look beautiful during soup kinds of evenings.
This item is a special extra addition to the total package of goodies. My husband is a big fan of teas, so it will be his early birthday gift, because how else can you celebrate a birthday during quarantine if not with tea and cake? My only wish is that Popsugar could include cake with their tea!
This is another extra and it rubbed me the wrong way. Yes, Clorox Scented Wipes just completed my vision of domestic bliss. I still haven’t decided though, which is better – to die from corona or to die from chemical pneumonitis. The truth is out there somewhere.
My overall impression of the box was very positive, besides the wipes. Some items are unconventional and unexpected, but what’s conventional today anyway? Keep up the good work, Popsugar!
