But here is a thing – some big expensive items are best to buy after Christmas is done and gone, for example, gym equipment.
You know how people eat non-stop for a couple of months and then either join the gym or buy equipment in January? Retailers are definitely aware of those New Year resolutions and are ready to deliver.
If you have a resolution like that, first think about your credit cards. Why? Because buying expensive stuff is best with credit cards and get rewards. Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card or Target REDcard are both great with 5% cash back and no annual fees.

Black Friday is way overrated when it comes to big screens. While Black Friday offers crazy deals on cheap TVs that nobody wants, but come end of January and you will see spectacular discounts of high-end TVs. It’s worth the wait!

Linens and bedding
January is a time for white sales that started way back, in late 1800s. At that time big department stores started sales on white linen and bedding right after the New Year to make way for new collections and other items.
Today the sales remain the same, but the color choice expanded greatly.

If you want a product from Amazon, but can wait, do that and wait. All their smart speakers, tablets, and ebook readers are priced best on Prime Day, which is in July. The prices are so low that the sale is called Christmas in July.
Mattresses
While January is not the worst month to buy mattresses, it’s not the best either. Wait until President’s Day in February and get memory foam mattresses delivered to your door for very little. If you absolutely have to have a mattress, at least wait until the end of the month for better deals to start rolling in.
Personal care products
Forget hair dryers, electric shavers, and electric toothbrushes this month if you can.
All those items were on sale during holiday season and now they are returning to their normal heights. You will see better prices in the next few months, so hold off from buying of you can. July sees the best prices on them hands down.
