AAA often comes to mind when we think about help on the road after our car breaks down or when we lock ourselves out of our car. However, there is so much more to AAA membership than just that. This article aims to explore all kinds of discounts made exclusively for AAA members.
What is AAA?
AAA is a nonprofit federation of interconnected motor clubs from over 1,000 locations and with over 55 million members in North America. This membership is paid and costs about $48-$100 per year, depending on the plan you choose. All members have access to 24-hour road-side assistance, free travel planning tools, identity theft monitoring, insurance deals and various shopping and dining discounts.
Many members don’t even know what’s included and comes with their membership. We would like to invite all long-time members and those that are just considering this service to see what benefits you can take advantage of:
What kind of hotel discounts can you get?
Many national chains and small hotels offer AAA discounts, which is one of the most popular perks used by members. When booking with boutique hotels ask about this discount and keep in mind that Best Western, Hilton, Hyatt, Marriot, MGM Resorts, and Starwood Hotels all offer 15% off for AAA members.
Can you get rental car discounts?
Over 50% of Americans rent a car at one point or another, especially during summer travel. AAA members get up to 20% off rental fees with Hertz, Dollar, and Thrifty. Some companies run weekly deals with even higher discounts, so always ask when reserving your booking in advance.
Can you expect restaurant discounts?
Many national chains offer AAA discounts on food, virgin beverages, and merchandise. For example, Hard Rock Café; gives 10% off with AAA card nationally and sometimes internationally.
Papa John’s Pizza offers 25% off regular priced items when ordering online with a promo code. There is a promo code for 33% off too.
What about restaurant certificates?
All AAA members should check out Restaurant.com and get discounts at local eateries. The offers depend on location and include diners, sports bars, and family restaurants where you can buy discounted entrees as long as you meet the selected minimum purchase.
Can you get clothing discounts?
Having AAA card might serve you as good as a printed coupon would when you shop for apparel. For example, you will save $10 off $40 purchase at Payless Shoes, 25% off your entire purchase at New York & Company stores or 10% off at outlet stores.
What about electronics discounts?
AAA card holders have many discounts on everything electronics. HP.com offers 10% off select products, free shipping, 30-day return policy without restocking fees, and 15% off printer ink cartridges. AAA members will also get access to a supplies loyalty program.
Can you get discounts on mobile service and accessories?
Consider yourself lucky if your cellular provider is Sprint. AAA members get 10% off monthly bills for select plans, no activation fees, and 25% off accessories.
What business and personal services discounts can users expect?
UPS store offers 15% off select services and products and 5% off shipping. FedEx Office has free shipping on $100+ online orders of printed business cards, manuals, and documents in bulk. FedEx also participates in the network of merchants offering credits in the form of WOWPoints, which is AAA’s online reward points program. Members get 5 points for every $1 spent and then get $1 for 100 WOWPoints that can be cashed at participating sellers.
What airport parking discounts are offered?
Over 35% off all Americans take at least one family vacation that involves flying. That is already expensive and when you add all extra costs, it becomes unbearable. AAA members can get 25% off airport parking at The Parking Spot to help with at least one type of expense.
Rail travel discounts
AAA members can save on train travel in the US and sometimes internationally. Amtrak offers 20% off with advanced booking.
Do theme parks offer discounts?
Millions of people visit theme parks each year and most of them don’t know that AAA card can get them significant discounts. Six Flags, for example, offers 30% off online tickets and 10% off $15+ merchandise.
Are prescription discounts included for AAA members?
AAA is great for prescription medication too, it turns out. Savings get even bigger on generic medication at over 59,000 retail pharmacies, including Walmart. Even some pet prescriptions might be eligible for discounts.
Can we expect deals on flower and gift basket deliveries?
1-800-Flowers offer discounts of 20% or $20 off $80+ orders. This offer includes orders from smaller brands that are owned by 1-800-Flowers, gift baskets and gifts from Harry & David.
Are there any paint discounts?
PPG Paint stores welcome all AAA members and offer 25% off paint and 15% off sundries. At certain times shoppers can get discounts as high as 50% off retail prices at the merchant stores.
Do we get any help with moving expenses?
Penske and Atlas Van Lines are participating in AAA network and offer significant discounts to members. Penske has 20% off one-way truck rentals and unlimited mileage when booked online. Members also get 12% off local rentals and moving supplies.
